Funding Analysis for BIPOC Documentary Content in Canada

The Documentary Organization of Canada’s DOC Institute commissioned this report to build a better understanding of how screen-based funding for documentary content is distributed in Canada, and specifically, how this funding is distributed to Black, Indigenous, and People of Colour (BIPOC) documentary creators. The report assesses funding allocated to BIPOC documentary creators in the Canadian film and television industry over the period of 2017-2020.
