There seems to be an increased focus on Ontario-based expenses. Has something changed?

We have always prioritized projects with a strong Ontario component. What’s new is that we are now being more explicit about how this is assessed.
For projects (including showcasing and professional development activities) that involve participants from outside Ontario, the amount of OMIF funding requested should reflect the proportion of Ontario-based participants. In general, only the Ontario portion of the activity is eligible for funding, unless otherwise discussed in advance.
Applicants are expected to clearly outline their Ontario-based activities and targets. As OMIF is an Ontario government funding program, a strong economic benefit to the province is essential.
