Speaker Bios

David Caron is the co-publisher and president of ECW and Annick Presses. ECW is a Toronto-based book, ebook, and audiobook publisher with a mix of award-winning literary works and niche non-fiction, marketed around the world. Annick Press creates books that spark a lifelong love of reading and challenges kids to think critically about the world around them, with many distinctions and awards each year. He has a zeal for community building, both in books and beyond. Before books, he worked in the worlds of theatre and photography.

Stacy Lee Kong (she/her) is a writer, editor and the founder of Friday Things, an independent media brand that delivers smart takes on the week’s biggest pop culture stories—or at least, the ones she can’t stop thinking about. She has worked as an editor at some of the largest magazine brands in Canada, including Flare, Canadian Living, House & Home and Chatelaine. Most recently, she was the founding editor-in-chief of 3 magazine, a national lifestyle magazine by, for and about immigrants and diasporic people. She is also the editorial director of The Issues Studio and a speaker, educator and culture critic

Russell Ward is Co-Founder and CEO of Massively.ai, a conversational marketing platform that helps content creators reach and engage fans through chat. Prior to Massively, Russell was Vice President of Marketing, Interactive and Creative Services at Teletoon Canada, and Director of Consumer Marketing at Astral Media, where he was a key member of the launch teams for Cartoon Network Canada, Adult Swim Canada, HBO Canada, and Playhouse Disney Canada (now Disney Jr.). He is also the founder of The Dress Up Club and CRIS Research Inc.
