Heated Rivalry: Hometown Pride
|
|
Since its November 28 premiere, this international breakout series from Ontario‑based creator Jacob Tierney (Letterkenny, Shoresey) has garnered widespread media, social media, and audience attention, with much of the conversation highlighting pride in its Ontario origins.
|
| |
|
| |
|
The series debuted to strong critical and audience recognition, reaching #1 on HBO Max and becoming the most‑watched original series on Bell Media’s Crave. Ontario stood in for Russia, Boston, Montreal, New York, and Las Vegas, and production shot throughout the province over 36 days featuring locations across Toronto, Hamilton, Guelph, and Muskoka. Produced by Accent Aigu Entertainment (Jacob Tiereny and Brendan Brady) and employing over 80 full time cast and crew in the first season, Heated Rivalry has already been renewed for a second season. The Ontario Film Commission is proud to have supported this film with early consultation and location support, contributing to a production that reflects Ontario's creative talent, technical capacity and global reach.

Ontario Recycling Changes |
| |
Ontario introduced important updates to its recycling program that began January 1, 2026. Circular Materials, a national not-for-profit, will oversee the new system, helping to standardize what can be recycled across the province. Several new materials are now being accepted province-wide, including:
- Coffee cups
- Deodorant containers
- Toothpaste tubes
- Ice cream tubs
- Black plastic containers
- Frozen juice containers
| Ontario Green Screen is encouraged to see recycling becoming more consistent and accessible across Ontario, and we look forward to the positive impact these changes will bring.

Second Harvest
|
|
Ontario Green Screen has a long-standing partnership with Second Harvest to support the film industry in connecting excess catering and craft food on set with those who need it most, reducing the environmental impacts of food waste on our planet. Ontario film and television productions have cumulatively provided over 55,000 donated meals worth over $200,000 to people in need across the province. This diverted 236,000 pounds of greenhouse gases, equivalent to powering 14 homes a year or consuming 248 barrels of oil.
Second Harvest’s Food Rescue App is a flexible, easy-to-use system that is available completely free of charge to its users.
